Upcycling Furniture

Hi Creatives, This may sound like a weird choice of subject for a website all about running Fairs, but I bet at least once you have thought to yourself “Geez stall furniture is expensive, I wish there was another way”… Well there is…make it yourself or adapt it from something else, that charity shop find may look a little dated right now but with a bit of TLC you can make it something fabulous and unique. Here are some of the products I use to Upcycle plus a How To from me on Upcycling Suitcases:

Using decopage is a great way to cover up a surface that you wish was different, just clean and rub the object down and use Decopatch Glue and paper of your choice and get sticking. From polysterene heads that look tacky, to the inside of a suitcase, the limit is your imagination… Check out my How to: suitcase top

Chalk Paint

I love chalk paint because it paints over just about anything and has a lovely finish once waxed. I painted a set of step ladders for my wedding and they looked lovely. You can paint picture frames, add some mesh or lace or a padded insert with nice fabric viola, jewellery display. Paint old tables viola stands in your booth.

Blackboard Paint

Useful and looks good, I like that it is matt is texture and you can write on it and then wipe it off if it goes wrong, great for using on any stall, I’ve painted furniture, tags, and boards with it. Blackboards are great if your having a sale, you can change it when needed for each Fair not need to print anything. All you need is a bit of spare time, and some creativity… You can do it Always read the labels on the product you buy, very helpful indeed. If you need some ideas why not check out our pinterest boards, especially our Make it Yourself ideas… Keep making Lauren
