Upcycling Furniture

Hi Creatives, This may sound like a weird choice of subject for a website all about running Fairs, but I bet at least once you have thought to yourself “Geez stall furniture is expensive, I wish there was another way”… Well there is…make it yourself or adapt it from something else, that charity shop find may look a little dated right now but with a bit of TLC you can make it something fabulous and unique. Here are some of the products I use to Upcycle plus a How To from me on Upcycling Suitcases:

Using decopage is a great way to cover up a surface that you wish was different, just clean and rub the object down and use Decopatch Glue and paper of your choice and get sticking. From polysterene heads that look tacky, to the inside of a suitcase, the limit is your imagination… Check out my How to: suitcase top

Chalk Paint

I love chalk paint because it paints over just about anything and has a lovely finish once waxed. I painted a set of step ladders for my wedding and they looked lovely. You can paint picture frames, add some mesh or lace or a padded insert with nice fabric viola, jewellery display. Paint old tables viola stands in your booth.

Blackboard Paint

Useful and looks good, I like that it is matt is texture and you can write on it and then wipe it off if it goes wrong, great for using on any stall, I’ve painted furniture, tags, and boards with it. Blackboards are great if your having a sale, you can change it when needed for each Fair not need to print anything. All you need is a bit of spare time, and some creativity… You can do it Always read the labels on the product you buy, very helpful indeed. If you need some ideas why not check out our pinterest boards, especially our Make it Yourself ideas… Keep making Lauren

Your “Shop in a Gazebo”

Hi All

With our launch into Westbury Gardens for this Months Fair, I am very excited about my own booth. We are offering outdoor spaces for £15, so you can bring your own gazebo and tables and create your own pop up shop. How exciting is that, I feel like a small child I am so excited. I have always wanted my own shop and this seems like a great and rather exciting alternative, setting up a shop for a day and for just £15 is great. Continue reading “Your “Shop in a Gazebo””

Great First Fair

Hi All

What a great first Fair of 2015, it was lovely to see so many creative people in one room. We had a wonderful variety of crafts on display and some wonderful feedback through out the day. The hall looked wonderful and I managed to fly around with my camera and take some photos and videos which I put together into a lovely show reel of the day. Can’t wait till the next Fair in April…

Have Fun Branding Your Business

Hey Creatives

I had a thought whilst looking through our pinterest boards, I realised that the best stands and the ones that I have pinned are ones that have tapped into a unique look of their own that suits the company name and products. Branding may sound like something only really big shops do but its not, branding can be very useful especially for artist and crafters. Creating a unique look of your own for you company means it is easily recognisable and your customers can find you again, think Cath Kidston, with her floral motifs. Branding can be really fun and exciting and once created a real achievement. Continue reading “Have Fun Branding Your Business”

stand 1
Pinterest Pin

I have noticed whilst wandering fairs that the best stalls are simple and have a brand look that fits their products. So if your making quirky cards and hanging pieces, Check out this amazing use of Ikea drawers and a tree from Hobby craft, Alternatively, you could make a tree from an off cut of real tree and a block of wood, add a spray paint of your chosen colour and there you a go, your own tree…

Making pieces for your stand can be a lot cheaper than buying pieces from professional companies and can give that really unique look to your stand. How about this great looking ring holder…. Click the image to find out how to make this ring holder on Pinterest…

We have setup some great new board on Pinterest with lots of pictures of stalls that we found appealing as well as handy tips on how to make stands and advertising for your stall…. and more…. just click here to take a look.
